DID YOU KNOW THAT YOU CAN RECORD NOTES IN YOUR OLYMPUS VANTA™ ANALYZER?

Why Notes?
Data management is very important to any testing program. You may have additional information associated with your X-ray fluorescence (XRF) results that you simply want to record along with your data. Your Olympus Vanta analyzer
makes it simple for you to input this data into a Notes field. The type and amount of information that our customers wish to record vary widely, thus we made it easy to create customized Notes templates. Using Notes on the Olympus Vanta XRF analyzer
will help maintain the integrity of the connection between your XRF information and other process parameters.
Options
The options for the Notes field are accessible from the Vanta Main Menu tray (pull down from the upper right part of the screen). Some common kinds of info recorded within the Notes field include test ID number, username, and material type. You'll be able to choose different Notes formats in your Vanta analyzer, including free text entry, drop-down menu, or autoincrementing value.
Workflow
Some managers are concerned that a technician may forget to input important data related to a test into the Notes fields. To deal with this issue, you'll be able to set up your Notes fields with a “Force” workflow. In this way, the Notes dialogue screen pops up to prompt the user to enter values. You'll be able to also set the Notes to optional. For optional Notes, scroll down on the test page to the Notes accordion, and enter your values. additionally, you'll be able to have Forced Notes configured as a pre-test edit (for notes on the test that you are about to take) or post-test edits (for notes on the test you just took). Typically, users who wish to create notes with each test use the Force Pre-Test Edit option. If you’re simply jotting down the occasional observation, use optional. You'll be able to also lock the notes so that they can’t be edited after the test is taken if you’re concerned about data security.
Content
Content is driven by the Notes template. many default options come preloaded in your analyzer. If these aren’t suitable, it’s easy to make simple Notes templates right on your analyzer, however, if you’re setting up more than one or two free text entry Notes, you ought to use the Vanta computer software to create a custom template.
Creating a Custom Notes template
Once you decide what Notes work best for you, the subsequent step is to make a custom Notes template in the computer software and then deploy it to your Vanta analyzer.

A meteorite is a fragment of a comet, asteroid, planet, or meteoroid that survived its passage through outer space and the atmosphere to land on the surface of the Earth. Unlike the fleeting beauty of meteors that illuminate the night sky as shooting stars, meteorites are enduring relics from outer space.

Whether you specialize in scrap sorting, metal manufacturing, or precious metal analysis, an XRF analyzer is one of the most essential aspects of your day-to-day success. A faulty or damaged analyzer, inaccurate readouts, hand fatigue—they can all lead to downtime, mix-ups, and rework, which hinder your bottom line. You can’t afford to be anything but fully confident in the XRF analyzer in your hand.

Portable X-ray fluorescence (XRF) and Optical Emission Spectroscopy (OES) equipment provider Innov-X-Africa has noted increased interest in its products from the steel sector, with salesperson Craig Bateman observing that the primary applications are for quality control and scarp sorting applications.

Our Vanta™ handheld XRF analyzer was recently featured on an episode of the popular History Channel TV show Pawn Stars. In the show, people bring items into the shop to potentially sell, trade, or pawn. Often, people don’t have a lot of information about the items that they’re bringing in. To determine a fair price, outside expertise can be required to get more information. That’s where a tool like the Vanta analyzer can help.

The new Vanta ™ GX precious metal analyzer is an affordable way to know the purity and composition of gold, jewelry, coins, and other valuables. Accurate, easy to use, and nondestructive, the countertop instrument delivers precious metal content, karatage and fineness in seconds so jewelers can confidently price the valuables they buy and sell.

Aluminium Metal Recyclers have recently taken delivery of a new Belec In-Spect arc-spark optical emission spectrometer and an Olympus Evident Vanta handheld XRF, both of them supplied by Innov-X Africa, a supplier of portable and handheld XRF elemental analysis instruments for metals and alloys, mining and geology, scrap and recycling, environmental and consumer safety, education and research and general manufacturing requirements in Africa.

Recommended Practice 578 (API RP 578) from the American Petroleum Institute (API) provides guidelines for a material and quality assurance system to verify the composition of alloy components in new and existing piping systems. Following these guidelines is critical for safety since using the right alloy in the right component can help prevent accelerated corrosion or even part failure.
